Our Values

Our Values

As a church, we are part of ChristCentral Churches (within the wider Newfrontiers family), and a member of the Evangelical Alliance (UK) – we fully accept and affirm the EAUK Basis of Faith. We also emphasise the importance of each person being filled and empowered by the Holy Spirit on a daily basis. First and foremost, we seek to be both Word of God and Holy Spirit based.

From what we read in the New Testament, we also seek to be:

  • A Worshipping church (John 4:23-24)
  • A Praying church (Acts 2:42)
  • A Mission-minded church - reaching the lost and the poor (Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 8:35, Galatians 2:10)
  • Enjoying the Grace of God (Romans 5:1-2 & 17)
  • The Family of God (Galatians 3:26-28, Ephesians 2:19)
  • The Army of God - fighting the good fight of faith together (Heb 6:12)

Our Story

Christ Central Telford (formerly Telford Christian Fellowship) started life in 1994 as a plant from an evangelical church in Bridgnorth. In June 1999 David Simpkins, sent and sponsored by Barnabas Community Church (Newfrontiers) and assisted by his wife Maureen, took over as lead elder. TCF was officially adopted as a Newfrontiers church in October 2001. When David retired in July 2006, Giles Higgins took over as lead elder assisted and supported by his wife Sarah.

In March 2008, TCF became a member of the Evangelical Alliance, the oldest and largest evangelical unity movement in the UK. We subscribe to the EAUK Basis of Faith.

On 21st April 2013, after 16 years of meeting at the Phoenix School, we moved our Sunday morning meeting venue to Dawley House. Since the summer of 2013 we have received apostolic oversight from the Newfrontiers ChristCentral team who provide encouragement, support and accountability for our leadership.

The ‘lockdown’ in March 2020 meant that we had to suspend meeting together on Sunday mornings until September 2020 when we reconvened our meetings using Zoom. Our worship times together on Zoom became very precious to us all during that difficult time. Teachings were recorded and uploaded to our YouTube channel.

We restarted meeting in person at Dawley House on the 8th August 2021. We now meet at 10.30 every Sunday morning for a time of worship, teaching, prayer ministry and fellowship, and again at 6pm for worship and prayer.

From early January 2023, God spoke to us in a number of ways around the theme of Isaiah 43:18 and 19, "See, I am doing a new thing..."! This led to two big changes in particular: a new name and logo, and a brand new website! On Sunday 24th March 2024, we had the joy of officially launching ourselves as Christ Central Telford. At the beginning of our meeting on 24th March 2024, Giles and Hannes gave a brief overview of our story as to why we changed our name
